Everything you need to know about vacationing in Larnaca

Is it worth it?

To answer the question of whether it is worth going to Larnaca, you must, first of all, know what kind of rest you like to get.

Although, most tourists who have visited this city leave extremely flattering reviews.

Beach lovers enjoy the clean and warm sea at Mackenzie Beach. Here, unlike Ayia Napa, it is not so crowded, and the service is at the highest level. If you wish, you can go diving, water skiing and organize fishing on a yacht.

For shoppers, this is a real paradise, especially for those who want to buy quality leather goods. I assure you that you will not leave Larnaca without a purchase.

The undoubted advantage of the resort is the affordable prices for housing and other services. The outskirts of the city are full of historical sights.

Surprisingly, car rental in Larnaca also won’t cost you a thing. So, if you want to, you can always visit the nearest cities and tourist attractions.

If you decide to spend your vacation with a child, then there is no better place in Cyprus.

Where should you stay

The coastline in Larnaca stretches almost for 10 kilometers; however, in addition to this, people tend to add to this resort neighboring areas with even more beaches, so that the result is almost a 20 km long beach zone. There is a huge selection of places where you can find a hotel in order to have a comfortable rest.

It is absolutely obvious that you must definitely choose the right place to stay, depending on your preferences and vacation plans. Otherwise, you can easily spoil your vacation with your unjustified expectations.

There are a lot of options for tourist accommodation in Larnaca – there are more than 400 hotels with guest houses and private apartments. By Cypriot standards, hotel prices are one of the lowest, perhaps. For example, a bed in a hostel costs from 14 euros per day, a double room in a three-star hotel from 35 euros, in a 4-star hotel from 80 euros, but in a five-star hotel, the cost would be around 140 euros per day.

A nice option would be to choose a hotel that is located a little bit farther from the city center but has a parking slot for your rented car. You can save up to half the price of the room if it’s not right in the middle of Larnaca. We saw a 4-star hotel, which only cost 35 Euros per night. I don’t recall a single country with prices that low.

Food in Larnaca

Finding an expensive and pretentious restaurant in Larnaca, however, just like in other resort cities of Cyprus, is no problem. It is much more difficult to find a place to which you would like to continually return and, at the same time, not leave your last money there. It should be said right away that basically all restaurants, cafes, and drinking establishments in Larnaca are located in areas close to the Finikoudes waterfront. But inexpensive food at the resort can be located on the second line from the sea, not far from the popular Kaktus hotel.

It’s just better to hire a car to get to the best restaurants with the lowest prices.

Many restaurants in Larnaca open at 12:00 – 12:30 and usually work until 9-10 pm, so it is more convenient to have breakfast here in bakeries, cafes, and pizzerias that open from 7 am. You won’t have to pay more than 6-8 euros for breakfast here. Still, lunch can cost from 10 to 15 euros if you dine away from the waterfront in simple establishments and already from 20 to 30 euros per person if you eat in a restaurant somewhere on the waterfront with a beautiful view. So it is worth considering this fact when choosing a place.
